Within the scope of Giresun Province Rural Income Resources Diversification Project (GIRKAP), carried out by our Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and financed by the Eastern Black Sea Project Regional Development Administration; In order to evaluate whether the Moringa oliefera plant, which is called the miracle plant in the world, adapts to the climate and soil conditions of our region, a garden was established on a total of 3 decares of land in 5 districts.
Moringa oleifera, also known as the drum tree, is a highly valuable and versatile plant belonging to the Moringaceae family. It is a fast-growing evergreen tree native to India and widely grown in tropical and subtropical regions throughout Asia, Africa, and South America.
Although its value has only recently been discovered by modern science, the Moringa plant has been providing numerous benefits to humans since ancient times. Romans, Egyptians, and Greeks valued this herb for its medicinal effects on various ailments.
